Ingredients

  • 400 g baby bok choy washed and halved lengthwise
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt to taste
  • A dash of white pepper optional
  • A splash of water about 2-3 tablespoons

Instructions

Prep the Baby Bok Choy:

  • Wash the baby bok choy thoroughly to remove any grit.
  • Cut them in half lengthwise to make them easier to cook evenly.

Heat Up the Pan:

  • Place a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.

Sauté Garlic:

  • Toss in the minced garlic and stir-fry briefly until it's fragrant but not browned, about 30 seconds.

Cook the Baby Bok Choy:

  • Add the halved baby bok choy to the pan. Stir-fry for about 2 minutes to get them coated in the oil and garlic flavor.

Season:

  • Sprinkle a bit of salt over the bok choy, and white pepper if using.

Add Water and Cover:

  • Add a splash of water and quickly cover the pan with a lid. This helps steam the bok choy so it cooks evenly.
  • Cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the bok choy is tender but still crisp.

Taste and Adjust:

  • Take a small piece and taste it. Adjust the seasoning if necessary.

Serve:

  • Transfer the cooked baby bok choy to a serving dish, and it's ready to be enjoyed!
