Ingredients
- 200 g pork belly thinly sliced
- 300 g firm tofu cut into cubes
- 2 cups of your choice of seasonal vegetables e.g., bok choy, bell peppers, broccoli, snow peas
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water for thickening the sauce
Instructions
Prepare Ingredients:
- Wash and chop the vegetables into bite-sized pieces.
Slice the pork belly thinly.
- Cut the tofu into cubes and pat dry with paper towels.
Cook Pork Belly:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the pork belly slices and fry until they are browned and crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Stir-Fry Vegetables:
- In the same pan, add the minced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add the chopped vegetables and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are tender but still crisp. Remove from the pan and set aside with the pork.
Cook Tofu:
- Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the pan.
- Gently add the tofu cubes and fry until all sides are golden brown. Be careful not to break the tofu.
Combine Ingredients:
- Return the cooked pork and vegetables to the pan with the tofu.
Add Seasonings:
- Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and chicken broth or water. Stir gently to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Thicken Sauce (Optional):
- If desired, add the cornstarch-water mixture to the pan to thicken the sauce.
Serve:
- Once everything is heated through and well-coated with the sauce, transfer to a serving dish.
