  • 1 block about 300g of soft tofu, cubed
  • 1 bunch cilantro chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 1 liter chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small ginger slice
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon sesame oil for added flavor

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients:

  • Slice the pork thinly, cube the tofu, and chop the cilantro.
  • Mince the garlic and slice the ginger.

Sauté the Aromatics:

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and ginger slice. Sauté until fragrant.

Cook the Pork:

  • Add the thinly sliced pork to the pot.
  • Stir-fry until the pork changes color, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the Broth:

  • Pour the chicken or vegetable broth into the pot.
  • Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.

Cook the Tofu:

  • Gently add the cubed tofu to the simmering soup.
  • Allow the soup to simmer for another 5-7 minutes, so the tofu absorbs the flavors.

Season the Soup:

  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Optional: Add a teaspoon of sesame oil for a more complex flavor.

Add the Cilantro:

  • Stir in the chopped cilantro and cook for another 2 minutes.

Serve:

  • Ladle the soup into bowls, ensuring each has a good mix of pork, tofu, and cilantro.
