For the Wontons:

  • 200 g ground pork
  • 100 g shrimp peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 green onion finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 30 wonton wrappers
  • Water for sealing wontons

For the Soup:

  • 1.5 liters chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 clove garlic minced (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • A dash of sesame oil
  • Green onions thinly sliced, for garnish


Prepare the Wontons:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, finely chopped shrimp, minced ginger, and green onion.
  • Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  • Place a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface.
  • Add about a teaspoon of the filling in the center of the wrapper.
  • Wet the edges of the wrapper with water.
  • Fold the wrapper over the filling, sealing the edges well to form the wonton shape of your choice (triangle, parcel, etc.).

Prepare the Soup:

  • In a large pot, bring the chicken or vegetable broth to a gentle boil.
  • Optional: Add minced garlic for extra flavor.
  • Add a dash of sesame oil and salt to taste.
  • Lower the heat to maintain a gentle simmer.

Cook the Wontons:

  • Carefully drop the filled wontons into the simmering broth.
  • Cook for about 3-5 minutes or until the wontons float to the top and are cooked through.


  • Ladle the clear soup and wontons into bowls.
  • Garnish with thinly sliced green onions.
  • Serve hot and enjoy your comforting bowl of Clear Wonton Soup.
